How to Choose a Mahjong Supplier: 12 Questions to Ask Before You Order
The twelve questions that separate reliable mahjong suppliers from listing agents — straight from the factory side of the table.
Factory or Agent? (Questions 1-3)
Ask: Do you manufacture or trade? What does your facility look like — photos, video call, or visit? Which production lines are in-house? A manufacturer answers with specifics — equipment names, line counts, staff numbers. Agents answer with categories and "partner factories". Both can serve you, but pricing depth and reorder consistency live with factories.
Consistency and QC (Questions 4-6)
Ask: How do you ensure my reorder matches my first order? What is your in-process QC staffing? What happens if a defect is found after shipment? Consistent color, weight and engraving depth across reorders is the single most valuable thing a specialized factory sells — make your supplier prove the system, not promise the outcome.
Terms and Reality (Questions 7-9)
Ask: What exactly does the quote include — packaging, accessories, documentation? What are the payment terms and what triggers the balance? What is your realistic lead time this season? Suppliers who quote complete (tiles + racks + pushers + dice + case + packaging) and state seasonal lead times honestly are the ones whose containers arrive when promised.
Partnership Signals (Questions 10-12)
Ask: Do you support custom logo programs at my volume? Can you consolidate sets and accessories in one shipment? What do your longest-running dealers order today? A supplier worth five years answers all three easily — and their answers tell you what your business will look like with them.
